Friday: Start of Hari Raya Haji. I woke up and ard noon, after which i went to St Wilfred for a football match. Poor perfomance for me as a right back but i promise to improve this coming saturday. Unlucky to misplace my watch there.

Lent my friend $80 tt day also. Hope he will return me asap. After that, i headed to Sentosa's Palawan Beach. I took the Blue line instead of the yellow line coz i thought i only need to take a yellow bus regardless of the line. We celebrated Pei En's Bday at Cafe Cartel at PS. This is the 1st time i go to cafe cartel. I am also surprised that we are entitled free flow of bread!

Saturday: went swimming with cedric. swam 20 laps buy i don't think it is enought. I bought Fifa2005 at a CD shop in Tampines. The shop is newly opened and i don't think it will last long. Watched a man Utd match later that night where 'we' won Villa 3-0

Sunday: went to help out at a temple at Lavendar St. Old people from Jalan Besar area had came over to the temple and waited for MP Lim Boon Yang to arrive. He gave out ang paos worth $60 each to the old people who specially came over by chartered buses to receive the ang paos. MP Lim boon yang drove an expensive black BMW!

Monday: went for a 3km run below my house. All set to book in....now!!! have to reach camp by 11pm.

This wraps up my long wkend and signals the start of a miserable work week!

"When the button is pressed, i will take my M16 and go. I will not take my SAR 21 because M16 is a better weapon. I do not know whether you all carry the 16 fully loaded magazines before, but i have. There was a time when i was patrolling the streets and i cock my GPMG ready to fire a live round."

My Miserable Weekends

My wkends have been spent watching soccer, reading newspapers n being my Dad's chauffeur. Nothing interesting n fulfilling! My friends' wkend have been spent socialising, at pubs etc, doing MLM, Multi-Level Marketing, which i loathe to the core, and spending quality time with their family n girlfriends or doing something they like, eg. dancing n singing lessons, hoping to be the next big thing of Singapore.

For my wkends, i only worry about whether 'my' Man United will win the next match and hoping for the other title hopefuls to lose their matches. And more recently worry about whether Singapore will lift the Tiger Cup. Other than soccer, i will also go for the occasional 3km running at the park below my house. Other than all these, nothing. Absolutely nothing.

I really need to spice up my precious wkends. Will definitely work something out while i am cleaning my rifles nxt wk. (platoon mates have gone to Thailand for evaluation..Stayback force have to clean over 200 arms while in camp. ) Hopefully things will turn out well next wkend.

"Failing to plan is planning to fail"

Next wk is a long wkend with Haji on Friday. I will not waste it.

UGLY SINGAPOREANS

I read with despair the violence that happened in the Singapore vs Myanmar match that was held at the National Stadium last night. 6 'skinshead' singaporean fans were reported to have attacked a Myanmar fan with a whiskey bottle outside the stadium. This was on top of the violence between fans inside the stadium wherby dustbins were thrown, obscenties exchanged and brawls breaking out.

I watched the match yesterday and i thought Myanmar should be punished for rough play and i condemned their players for that. Never did i expect to read from the newspaper today that our own Singapore fans were also having an inappropriate behaviour. Now, what would the authorities from the officials that organise the Tiger Cup react to yesterday's heated exchanges between the 2 countries? Will the match be abandoned or will Singapore be punished to play their next match behind closed door? I think our fans and players should keep a cool head in these situations.

Football Hooliganism In Singapore
Posted by Hello
angelzone | 10:37 pm | me, myself and i

The ST (Jan 2, 2005) has headlined this article "small-minded Singaporeans".

I will headline it as:

"STUPID SINGAPOREANS"

SOMEONE thought that the victims of the tsunami disaster could use a pair of red boxing gloves. Or perhaps a pair of roller skates that had seen better days.

Among the clothes, canned food and medical supplies that were left at News Centre, there were some items that left volunteers scratching their heads. Besides the boxing gloves and roller skates, there were high-heeled shoes, well-used bras, evening bags and plastic handcuffs.

It looks like some people are using the relief effort as a chance to get rid of their unwanted possessions.

SPH's executive vice-president for corporate services, Mrs Sng Ngoi May, said: 'It's very sad that while there are a lot of genuine do-gooders, there are also some people who are trying to take advantage of the situation.'

SPH is renewing its appeal to the public not to donate any more clothing, as relief agencies say they have sufficient supplies.

It will instead accept medical supplies, canned and dried food and water. It will also continue to collect cash and cheque donations on behalf of the Singapore Red Cross.

I knew it would be this way when i saw mountains of plastic bags and boxes at various collection outlets in Singapore. Singaporeans are that stupid!

Saturday, January 01, 2005

The sporting world has responded well in the worldwide effort to help victims of Asia's tsunamis.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and his first-team squad have pledged £100,000 to the Asian tsunami disaster fund. That is on top of the £50,000 the club are giving as part of a £1m donation from all 20 Premier League clubs.

However, i feel Man Utd players should donate more money to help the victims. The players are millionaires, earning an average of about £30,000 per week!! That is excluding huge earners like Roy Keane, Rudd Van Nistelrooy, Ronaldo and other 1st team players, whose salary is way above £30,000!!!!! £100,000 shared by so many huge earners in the squad is way too little!!

And why isn't Chelsea owner Roman Abramovic donating $ to help the victims? 1 billion dollars is nothing to him!!! C'mon, boss with 'title credential', show us some philanthropy in you!

In the world of tennis, Swedish player Jonas Bjorkman and his doubles partner, India's Mahesh Bhupathi, are donating their earnings from next week's Indian Open in Madras

England's cricketers have donated £15,000 to the appeal, while their fans are hoping to raise a further £20,000 and the Professional Cricketers' Association has pledged £5,000.

In China, a committee organising the 2008 Olympic Games set up donation sites throughout Beijing, collecting $2,900 in 30 minutes, state media said.
