Was v v v shocked by the news that Singapore's opposition leader, Mr Jeyaratnam, has passed away from heart attack this morning. He was 82 years old.

I spotted him with his grandson at a bookstore at Tanglin Shopping Centre some time back. He was seen talking to the bookstore owner, supposedly about a book that he wrote. He seemed a friendly and likable person. I tried to stay close to him to eavesdrop about the conversation but couldn't really make out what they were discussing about.

Sad...

Now, what would happen to Reform Party which he recently set up? I admire all the opposition leaders in Singapore even though they are fighting a losing battle against the PAP.

One thing to note: I AM PRO-PAP. (JUST IN CASE SOMETHING BAD HAPPEN TO ME)

Tough, real tough

F1 Singapore Grand Prix

The first ever Singapore night race has come and gone. So what's so interesting about the F1 race? Is it the cute Lewis Hamilton or the grid girls? I couldn't understand and appreciate at first - Cars are just going around in circles and so what if they manage to overtake each other? So I only watched a little bit of it and tuned to other channels.

But after reading the post-race reports, I could appreciate it a little and regretted not staying on channel 5 to watch the whole race. The drama would unfold as the race goes on. There was also a schoolboy error in that Felipe Massa's car was still attached with the fuel hose when he moved out from the pit lane. He started the race as 1st and ended up 13th. It is a little bit like football in that the beginning wouldn't be exciting.

So, Fernando Alonso 1st, followed by Nico Rosberg, followed by Lewis Hamilton. God knows who they are.

The Singapore government made history, by staging the 1st ever F1 night race in Singapore and made more Singaporeans, including myself, a little bit more aware that there is a sport called motor racing other than football.

More F1 race on Starsports for me I suppose.

Hello-panda

Is Hello panda tainted with Melamine?

I bought 2 boxes at NTUC fairprice $at 4.95 each on Friday as I thought I would need them to accompany me for CM3268. And the next morning, Alan told me that it is tainted with Melamine and it is in the news.

I do not know how true the news is as it is not mentioned in the AVA website as the banned list of items. I have also tried searching online for the news and latest list of banned items but couldn't find hello-panda on the list.

Sometimes Alan couldn't be trusted much. I need to read the news myself to believe that the news is true.

Meanwhile, don't care, just eat?

Sunshine boy

Went for DB session yesterday morning and followed by beach Volleyball at Sentosa in the afternoon.

I was quite sick of volleyball after a while as we kept miss-hitting the ball and the ball kept flying all directions other than the directions we intended to hit to. Seeing others play volleyball so well made me jealous. I also tend to use my legs and head to hit the ball over to the other side and this led to jeering from team-mates, especially Alan, as they thought that I was showboating.

But it is my instinct to hit the ball with my head when the ball is high up as I got no time to think and stretch out my hand to belay the ball. Volleyball is difficult in that we either snatch with each other to hit the ball ball, or hesitate to hit and end up losing the point.

More practice sessions needed if I really want to play well.

Running apparels

Went over to Adidas concept store in Handy Road to check out thier running apparels yesterday. They are so ex! 75 bucks for a singlet and another 75 for a running shorts? This is crazy.

Didn't buy any as the person said new stocks would come in either tomorrow or next week. Eagerly waiting...

Oh, I found "Where rainbows end" at "The Commercial Press" in The Cathay.

At least I have something to look forward to after a day's work and study.

Narrow escape

Nearly got hit by a car at the zebra crossing while running last night. Why are drivers always in a rush? Myself included.

Ran for like 1 and a half hours to NUS and back. I slowly gained momentum as I approached the half hour mark. My supernova sequence 7 with the pro-moderator for my over-pronation is superb so far. I feel less pain on my ankle when I run. It is the most comfy shoe I've ever worn and worth every cent I pay ($127).

BPL weekend

I'm really looking forward to the weekends. Not only there would be dragonboat and windsurfing sessions for me, there would be exciting BPL matches as well!

Back to back matches!!:

However exciting those matches are, I would most likely fall asleep during the Chelsea game as they play so late.

Time flies

My 9th week at 3M has come and gone.
