Thurs Sept15, 0245hrs Villarreal v Man Utd, El Madrigal

Sun Sept18, 1900hrs Liverpool v Man Utd,

Nothing can be sadder than missing 2 out of 4 matches for Man Utd. But rest assure i'll keep up to date with the results on GPRS. The pressure is on us as the blues are above us yet again.

Hungarian club Debrecen gave me a good farewell on Thurs by being hammered 3-0 by us. Spanish club Villarreal n former flop Diego Forlan will welcome me back to Singapore on Sept15.

Time Discovery

Now i know when to add 8 hrs or 7hrs to UK time when wanting to know the local time in Singapore.

The UK is using GMT(Greenwich Mean Time). But in the summer, they use the BST(British Summer Time), which is ahead of GMT by an hour. That is why during the summer months, March/April-September/October, we add 7 hours to UK's time to get the local time in Singapore. In other months, we add 8 hours to GMT to get UK's time.

Therefore a 1500hr BST EPL match will be starting at 2200hr Singapore time in August. Come December, when it is winter time, a 1500hr EPL match will start at 2300hr Singapore time, an addition of 8 hrs to the GMT instead of 7hrs.

Because of the different time forms, matches start 1 hr later in Singapore in the later part of the season, although the time indicated in the UK remains the same.

Project Superstar 2005

Xin Hui is my superstar no matter the result, which will be announced at 2359hrs tonight. Kelly is too childish n act cute to be a superstar as seen in the introductory segment before she sings the songs. I hope Xin Hui goes to the grand finals.

I will not vote for her though. Will not waste this kind of money.

A few days more to washing toilets in Taiwan......

We watched "Wedding Crashers" at Cine today. The show is nice starring Owen Wilson and the gorgeous Rachel McAdams. She reminds me of Kate Beckinsale who acted in Pearl Harbor.

After which, we headed down to Kinokuniya where i bought a book "Red Rabbit" by Tom Clancy which will accompany me throughout my boring few weeks in Taiwan. We rounded off the day by spending our hard-earned money at the Coffee Bean outside Borders. A day well spent ever since the long break starting last Fri.

Pictures taken at Coffee Bean....

To celebrate Singapore's independence or to showcase Singapore's military might?

To have an enjoyable public holiday or to have extra work days?

Our Nation's birthday is a much awaited day for some. But for others, National Day is very much dreaded day. Those army personnel sure feel proud and honoured to be involved in it. I hope they do not feel sad to do those extra 'sai kang' like cleaning their weapon and SBO, polishing their boots, making sure that the 'awesome' vehicles of the mobile column that will travel to various heartlands of Singapore are mud-free. Not forgetting the number of rehearsals and drill lessons that they are required to have. All these are not shown 'live' on national TV.

We only saw those high ranking ppl giving interviews on TV on the awesome things that they will do during this national day, like conducting military drills at the heartlands for Singaporeans to see. But are they working as hard as their subordinates?

A big Thank You to those involved but not appreciated by people.

We are being subjected to unfair treatment again. This time regarding something that everybody hates doing - being a "guards". I feel sorry for those involved.
