A prelude to what will be going on at Down Under

Taken from Mr Miyagi's blog:

"

"There are no power points here and the mobile signal is intermittent. So I have to turn off my phone to save power. There are no bunks here, and we're all staying in tents. Okgottago, mobilebatteryispreciousbyebye. " said Miyagi to me last night.

Three weeks in an Aussie desert, a battalion of Singapore soldiers with mobile phones without any mobile signal and no way to charge their batteries. I am surprised there isn’t already some kind of reservist uprising.

"MO sir, I dunno why leh, my hand shaking and I feel weak and faint. Maybe I need to MC or downgrade, you think? Ever since I found out I cannot sms or call my girlfriend/wife/children for three weeks, I have been feeling sick. No handphone liddat how I tell them to help me buy 4D and Toto?"

And can you imagine how difficult it would be for the I/C to gather the men who have gone for canteen break?

Oh wait. Desert has no army canteen. Not even that mobile canteen van driven by this uncle who always seems to know where to find our soldiers in the Singapore exercise areas.

What da heow?

"

Hell is imminent.

Who else but Wayne Rooney?

Rooney celebrates opener Posted by Picasa

19-yr-old Rooney single-handedly gave us a 3-1 scoreline against Sunderland, making 2 goals and scoring 1 himself. Man Utd did not play well as a unit as they kept losing possession especially in the 1st half. Only Van Dar Sar, Park Ji-Sung, Phil Bardsley and of course Rooney can be singled out for praise.

Now, who is to bet against Rooney winning the World Footballer of the Year Award, which will be announced on 19Dec.

No UEFA Champions League for me as I will be flying on the 18th of October(Tue). Shit them for not letting me fly a day later.

When I touch down at Rockhampton Airport, 0600hrs Singapore time, the match would have already ended.

Appalling decisions

An England match at Old Trafford, with Manchester United stars not amongst the starting 11.

Kieran Richardson, a natural left footer, was left as a sub while $$Joe Cole$$ plays on the left. Costly decision evident as England had a very good chance on the left wing but Joe Cole could not cross the ball with his left foot. He was quiet throughout until he got substituted.

Rio Ferdinand, the world's most expensive defender, only came on as a sub because Campbell suffered a hamstring injury. He definitely deserved a place in the starting 11 as he was playing at home and would be doubly committed to play well for his home fans despite poor performances for United recently.

Alan Smith was not even on the subs bench. England definitely needs a defensive and aggressive midfielder, not 2 attacking ones like Lampard and Gerrard.

The result says it all. England players from Man Utd did not start at Fortress Old Trafford, therefore England only managed a miserable 1-0 win, scored by $$Frank Lampard$$ from the penalty spot.

England: Robinson, Young, Terry, Campbell, Carragher, Beckham, Gerrard, Lampard, Cole, Crouch, Owen.

Subs: King, Kirkland, Ferdinand, Wright-Phillips, Richardson, Bent, Defoe.
