Being the shortest man has its advantage. I am relieved of taking part in the parade amid some controversies with my bunk mates.

"Here we are working hard on our drills n you are at home 'slacking' !"

They felt unfair n it is understandable. I was also a victim of unfair treatment when i was recalled back from OFF on Tuesday while people were slacking at home. Luck plays an important factor here. Moreover, there is always the problem of "y should i do more work than someone who gets the same pay as me?"

But the problem lies not in 'money vs work'. Rather it lies in how responsible and unselfish u are in doing things u are required to do n complete and not push the responsibilities to others. We are all on the same boat. Let us be unselfish and complete the tasks we are required to do with our utmost capabilities.

Section movement in Pulau Ubin (15July)

Yesterday was my 2nd cycling trip in Ubin. This time was more fun as there was a 'stupid s*ldier' around. N i also covered more distance than the last time.

This trip was nearly cancelled because of the rain. But thanks to someone's quick-witted remark that the East side of Singapore 'is very sunny' , we carried on with the trip. If not, we will be watching a movie where there will be a high probabily that i will be sleeping in the cinema.

Overall the trip is 'xiong but shiok'. It made me sleep the whole afternoon today. I hope our nxt section movement will be more xiong than yesterday's n that the top 2 garang s*ldiers in the S#F, Tiong n Jun Han, can join us in the our next xiong exercise.

What dramatic turn of events. Cheers yesterday n tears today. London has been rocked by a series of explosions at underground train stations. This comes a day after London had won the rights to host the Olympic Games in 2012. Our hearts go out to the casualties.

Beckham all smiles after 'beating Raul n Blanc'

Beckham n co are in jubilant mood after learning that London will be hosting the Olympics in 2012. He had said that he might come out of retirement to be involved in England's Olympics football team. He is in Singapore to support London's campaign to host the Olympics in 2012. Congrats to London!

haiz....after trial n error...i found out that the real reason why the old 40gb harddisk was not working is because the zip drive is faulty.

The SEAGATE which i borrowed from guang jenq worked well with the faulty zip drive because after 1 week of not switching on the the cpu, the faulty zip drive became okay only for a few hours. N during that few hours, i was able to install Win XP. After which, any harddisks will become undetectable again.

Haiz...how careless am i to jump to the conclusion that my hdd is spoilt...

*a lesson learnt: A master will not work if its slave is spoilt.
I do know for the vice versa because i did not do trial n error for that. I have had enough of trial n errors just now. Maybe if the master is spoilt, its slave can still work?

I bought a new 80GB HDD at $93. But the sad thing is the old 40gb hdd seems to be working now.

The BIOS of my com can detect neither a 40GB nor a 80GB Maxtor harddisk as a primary master when a primary slave device is present. However, the BIOS can detect a SEAGATE harddisk with a primary slave present. Anybody knows the reason?

Now i have to make do with no ZIP drive as it was my primary slave. N i have also wasted money buying a 80gb harddisk as the 40 GB is still workable after i detached the primary slave from the system.
