Time DiscoveryNow i know when to add 8 hrs or 7hrs to UK time when wanting to know the local time in Singapore.
The UK is using GMT(Greenwich Mean Time). But in the summer, they use the BST(British Summer Time), which is ahead of GMT by an hour. That is why during the summer months, March/April-September/October, we add 7 hours to UK's time to get the local time in Singapore. In other months, we add 8 hours to GMT to get UK's time.
Therefore a 1500hr BST EPL match will be starting at 2200hr Singapore time in August. Come December, when it is winter time, a 1500hr EPL match will start at 2300hr Singapore time, an addition of 8 hrs to the GMT instead of 7hrs.
Because of the different time forms, matches start 1 hr later in Singapore in the later part of the season, although the time indicated in the UK remains the same.
